Just You
If you are an adult who will not be practicing with others in a group then you call all the shots! You are your own Mentor and you decide the day and time of your sessions. If you want to include your children, you simply obtain a kids workbook and Mentor workbook and they can join you for your own family group!
There are pros and cons to practicing by yourself. Being able to set your own schedule is an advantage. Yet learning to work together in a group, developing close relationships, and appreciating the gifts of others, are advantages to practicing with others.
You will need an adult book, and we suggest the Guidebook too.
Kids

Kids require a Mentor, someone to guide them through the projects and provide the time, place, materials, permission, and encouragement they will need. If you’re looking to start a kids group, you are the best choice for the Mentor.
Get your list together! Each child will need their own workbook. However, you only need one Mentor book for the group.
Will you hold sessions every week, every other week, or ?
Adults
To start an adult group answer the following questions:
Will it be a group of friends, a neighborhood group, a church group, or some other group?
You may find it best to have one person gather the art materials needed, even if everyone contributes to the cost. Someone also needs to make the final decision on dates, times, cancellations if needed etc. If you’re looking to start a group, you are most likely the best choice for the Mentor.
Each one needs their own workbook. We suggest you obtain the Guidebook too.

Combination Groups
It’s possible to have a group of both kids and adults if the group is willing to allow for the flexibility that is so often necessary when working with kids.
A combo group works especially well in family situations. It works best if you treat it as a kids practice with the adults making the adjustments as needed. The art projects in the adult and child workbooks are compatible to do together.
